Musical abilities are nurtured in an individualized way so that all students have the opportunity to develop a thorough musical background. The musical, technical and personal skills learned and developed through the String Academy of Wyoming enable students to
- achieve their musical goals (whether leading to music as a career or an avocation)
- explore self-expression and creativity
- develop kinesthetic awareness
- develop self-confidence
- gain self-knowledge
- enjoy a lifetime of appreciation and participation in the art of classical music.
The pedagogical approach employed in the String Academy of Wyoming is based on the teachings and philosophies of Shinichi Suzuki, Paul Rolland, Ivan Galamian and Mimi Zweig.
Instruction is given in weekly private and group lessons. Performance is emphasized through solo and ensemble recitals.
The program is designed for students ages 5-18.
